This quaint little diner is so Americana! The Honey Hole had the best service of any restaurant I have ever eaten in. That includes many 5 star restaurants around the world. From the moment we walked in until we left we were made to feel at home. They had a crock of complimentary hot pinto beans for anyone that wanted a bowl. I felt so welcomed into this establishment.
My husband got the Sasquatch Jr. burger and he could barely finish it because it was so big. He gave it a 10 rating. Our grandson had a regular hamburger and it was cooked to perfection. I had a grilled chicken salad and it was just as expected, but too large to eat it all. We will definitely go back whenever we travel through Marshall Texas.
Hidden gem in plain sight. Simple decor, simple menu, GREAT FOOD. Catfish is cooked just right. Homemade breading and tartar sauce made the meal. I have spent twice as much for half the flavor. But don't forget the chicken fried steak. Unlike the chain restaurants, their gravy has a refreshing bite to complement breading.
Super nice waitresses, cheap food that tastes better than ANY other restaurant in Marshall. Amazing portions that'll require a take home box unless you truly come in hungry, and I recommend you do! The restaurant is very open, wheelchair accessible, and decorated to match the authentic East Texas food served!
Best bologna sandwich you never knew you had to have. Onion rings were good and the free bean soup was a nice way to start the meal. Although the hush puppies were delicious, I might skip it next time as the side was I believe $3 for 3 hushpuppies. Next time I’ll save room for dessert. Looked like a great build your own ice cream corner in the back. PS. They don’t serve breakfast! Check out their Facebook page for updates.
