Was looking for for good pizza in the area and got a few recommendations I didn’t really love. Tried Locontes and thought it was delicious! I’m
From an area where I know my pizza and I’m picky. Pizza and sub was great! Had a conversation w the owner and I want to say his daughter who were the nicest people and talked about Italian food.
Highly recommend if you are looking to support a small business with a family you can see really cares about their food!
Excellent (huge!) meatball sub, pizza is very good and the guys working the counter are very nice and fast.
I've always loved their food. I do have to say that the last 2 pizzas that I've gotten have been lacking in the cheese department, especially for ordering and paying for extra cheese. 🤷♀️
Got two "torpedo" subs I thought was just large. NOPE. Wow they're massive. (Could easily feed 4 or 5 people) Fresh bread and the subs were amazing. We got steak bomb and Italian and both were great. Also this is my dads favorite local place and he's super picky.
Coming up from Brooklyn to visit family, I stopped in to get some Greek salads. And to see why they have 4.5 stars... Salad was nice with PLENTY of those deliciously briny kalamata olives...
I also left with escarole soup, and Italian icees as well. As cliche as it sounds, the soup tasted homemade, like my grandma's...really tasted so good and hearty...A proper chicken tasting soup... Hard to explain nowadays that most things are processed... Must try it...
Came back for the pizza and my son loved it. Basically it's two slices... Big!... Great cheessines and crust. The tirramisu was light and just right... Also had a turkey and ham and cheese sub... It was big! And tasty...
We passed by a few times visiting, but so glad we didn't this time... I used to buy baseball cards here when I was ten years old when it was Matt's... Times have changed... Thankfully in a tasty way! Staff is very friendly as well... I wish I could take this place back to Brooklyn with us...
