This was our first trip to Edisto. When we arrived at our AirBnb, we ordered pizza from the Sand Bar. It took a little longer for our order to be completed than originally expected, but we got our 3 pizzas and salad and went on our way. When we got back to the place we were staying, I realized they had forgotten the ranch dressing for our salad. I drove back up to the restaurant to tell them about the missing dressing only to find out that they had since run out of ranch. They gave me Italian as a replacement, and I left frustrated.
I sent a message on FB about my experience to the restaurant, and they responded to ask for my contact information. One of the owners, Dawn, called me the next day to apologize and to offer me a refund for the salad. She wasn’t going to be able to put it back on my card so she offered to give me cash. My family was on the beach already that morning, so she came out to the pier and met me on the beach. She was super pleasant, and I think this is the way customer service should be.
On top of it all, the pizza was really good! We would definitely order again, and I would just check our order better before I left.
The pizza, when we finally got it, was excellent. Very flavorful and large. However, they were understaffed and overwhelmed. And just before our food arrived, they started turning people away, due to running out of pizza dough. How do you run out of dough in a pizza joint on a weekend at a small beach town?
Amazing experience, polite staff, the lady behind the counter was very very kind, only about a 15 minute wait for AMAZING pizza, we got half Margherita half bbq chicken tried both and they were both spectacular! I highly recommend it
After waiting for about 15 minutes without service at another restaurant that serves pizza near by, we found this place on our phones and decided to try to make it there before they closed (it was about 1:45 and they were closing at 2 that day per Google)
I called as we were walking over to see if they would be willing to take our order so close to closing time. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet and took the order and said to come on over.
The pizza was delicious and the service top notch. We sat in the screened in porch to eat. Very nice atmosphere. This will now be our go to lunch spot anytime we go to Edisto.
The pizza had a pleasant flavor and the sauce/cheese/toppings were balanced and of decent quality. The crust could use some work, like oiling the bottom before they cook it or something, to improve the mouthfeel and add some crunch. The shop is not much to look at, and the tables inside are too small for plates and a pizza, so a ding on atmosphere. The lady who took my order was super nice.
